When Mole flees his little underground home he discovers new friends and adventures with Raj, Toad and Badger. As it is the author's escape from his own reality that inspired the shenanigan of the characters, so the moral of the story is essentially to try to do your best at all times, forgive others, and make the world a better place. Even those who take a long time to recognize their mistakes can take solace in the fact that it is never too late.
